The hotel is located in the small village of Boca de Sabalos in the south of Nicaragua, very close to the border to Costa Rica. To get to Boca de Sabalos, you have to go to the district capital San Carlos first. San Carlos can be reached by bus, ship or plane:
By plane (Costeña Airline), you will travel the most comfortably. The flight from Managua airport to San Carlos takes under an hour. From there, a taxi will take you to one of the boats to Boca de Sabalos.
By ship, you cross the great Nicaragua lake in an overnight journey. It is advisable to go first class so that you may have a better chance to find a place to sleep. The following day, you can take the boat to Boca de Sabalos.
-
Traveling by bus or car is the most strenuous. There is no proper road for the last 100 miles of the way, so you will need a cross-country vehicle. It takes the bus 9 hours to travel the distance of 320 miles.
